Sean Adams on Fossil Fuel Addiction in the Boston Globe

A recent article in the Boston Globe on the transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy drew upon the research of UF Professor Sean Adams, whose new book, Home Fires: How American Kept Warm in the 19th Century, was published this year.  The article discussed the last transition from renewable energy, in the form of firewood, to fossil fuels, namely coal.  In the end, making the switch back to renewable forms of energy might be tough, but the work of a new generation of historians of energy suggest that we can learn from the last “black revolution” in the 19th century to help move along a “green revolution” in the 21st.  For more see the article at:
