Mosunmola Ogunmolaji

Mosunmola Ogunmolaji specializes in the history of medicine. Specifically, her research focuses on the dynamic relationship between the professionalization of nursing in Nigeria and the migration of these nurses to the United Kingdom. She explores the everyday experiences of migrant nurses in national, transnational, migration, and colonial histories. Her research engages with different fields, such as African and African diaspora histories, the history of nursing, and migration and labor. In 2022, she received the UF Center for African Studies Pre-dissertation Research Award to conduct preliminary research in the UK. Most recently, she received the UFIC Research Abroad for Doctoral Students Award to conduct fieldwork in Nigeria.

Mosunmola Ogunmolaji was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She earned her first and second degrees in History and Strategic Studies at the University of Lagos. She is currently a graduate research assistant at Samuel Proctor Oral History Program, University of Florida, where she coordinates oral history projects
