Emma C. Riquet is a PhD student specializing in the study of Confederate memory and heritage in the U.S. South. After having completed a first master’s degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies and a second master’s degree in North American Studies, Emma started at the University of Florida to further focus on the question of the removal of Confederate monuments and the Confederate flag from public spaces. Her focus is on memory studies and history from a socio-cultural perspective. Emma has presented at multiple conferences, including one that took place in Malmö, Sweden, and discussed “The Art of Conviviality.”
