This last summer, Emeritus Professor Geoffrey Giles was very busy publishing the entry “Homosexuals” in the Cambridge History of the Holocaust, Volume 3: The Victims and Their Worlds, 1939-1945 with Cambridge University Press and “‘Skipped the Parade!’ A Deficit of Fanaticism in the SA Guards Regiment” in Die SA in der Region: Akteure, Narrative, und Praktiken einer nationalsozialistischen Gewaltorganisation (edited by Martin Göllnitz and Yves Müller).
He also spoke in June at the Annual Summer Institute for Educators at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, hosted by the Gutterman Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education. This year’s theme was “The Power of Propaganda” and his presentation focused on Nazi efforts at “enticing youth through the collecting craze for cigarette cards.”
Nice work, Dr. Geoffrey Giles!
