Congratulations to Mosunmola Ogunmolaji, Marcus Chatfield, and Licinio Miranda!

Three graduate students won research awards at UF in fall 2023.

Mosunmola Ogunmolaji (Nancy Hunt, supervisor) won a Research Abroad for Doctoral Students (RAD) award from the UF International Center to conduct research on the transnational history of the migration of Nigerian nurses to the United Kingdom.

Marcus Chatfield (Joseph Spillane, supervisor) received a CLAS Dissertation Fellowship funded by the Robin and Jean Gibson Fellowship Endowment that will sponsor his work on the origins of the troubled teen industry in the United States.

Licínio Nunes de Miranda (Jeffrey Needell, supervisor) received a CLAS Dissertation Fellowship funded by the Threadgill Dissertation Fellowship for work on his dissertation, “Land of Light: Slavery and the Abolitionist Movement in Brazil, 1880–88.”
