Sharony Andrews Green, The Chase and Ruins: Zora Neale Hurston in Honduras (History Graduate Student Guest Lecture Series)

Dr. Sharony Andrews Green, Associate Professor of African American History at the University of Alabama, will be a guest speaker at the first History Graduate Student Guest Lecture Series. Sharony will discuss her new book: The Chase and Ruins: Zora Neale Hurston in Honduras (Johns Hopkins UP, 2023). The book follows Hurston’s little-known anthropological expedition to excavate Mayan ruins in Honduras in the 1940s. Dr. Riché J. Daniel Barnes, Associate Professor of Anthropology, and PhD Candidate Joe Angelillo will serve as discussants. The event will take place online via Zoom. Register here.
