Certificates and Specializations

The History Department offers two certificates and analogous major specializations.

Legal History is a 9-credit specialization/certificate where students learn about the connections between history and the law. The certificate/specialization coordinator is Dr. Joshua Sander (joshuasander@ufl.edu).

Digital Methods in History is a 9-credit specialization/certificate that introduces students to tools like online archives, databases, and maps. The certificate/specialization coordinator is Dr. Paige Glotzer (paigeglotzer@ufl.edu).

For more information, follow the links above or reach out to the Advising team (advising@history.ufl.edu). hours used to meet the requirements of another major or minor may be used toward the minor in history.  Transfer students who minor in history must take at least nine hours of history at UF.
